Domestic Short Hair (short coat) Cat

Honey the Cat needs a home

This adorable round-faced cutie pie is Honey. She was going to be euthanized at a rural animal control shelter and we rescued her just in the nick of time. Honey was very sick and weak when we pulled her. She could barely hold her head up because she was so anemic. She was immediately treated and administered medication for several weeks to address various ailments. She definitely perked up and improved during treatment, but it was then that we noticed that she has cerebellar hypoplasia, or CH for short.  Basically, it's a birth defect which causes their cerebellum to be underdeveloped.  However, CH kitties can live very long, happy, and healthy lives without issue or special care. The only difference is that they are wobbly when they walk and sometimes fall over, but it doesn't hurt them and they're not in pain. In fact, they don't know that they are any different than other kitties. Honey has a rather mild case of CH and is just a bit wobbly when she walks, but she gets around just fine and even climbs cat trees without issue.  To learn more about CH and how it affects cats, visit http://chcat.org/about-ch-cats/.

Honey has been fully vetted and will be available for adoption very soon. She is a sweet and gentle soul and melts as soon as you pet her, especially when you rub her tummy.  She is also timid and shy and will require a quiet home without young children and a family who will give her time to settle in to a new environment. She prefers to hide when she's frightened and loud noises and sudden movements sometimes startle her, but don't let that dissuade you from giving this sweet little girl a chance. She will have you wrapped around her little paws with those big round eyes, and her purr motor runs constantly when you pet her. She also loves other kitties and seeks comfort from them so a home with another friendly cat or two is a must.  She is spayed, current on vaccinations, negative for FeLV/FIV and microchipped - DOB 7/2017 (tag # 10655JB).

Honey is a special girl who will steal your heart the minute you meet her. She has been through so much in her short life, and deserves nothing but the very best and a family who will love her for the rest of her life.  Please give her a chance and grant her wish for a forever home!
